Air abrasion
Dental air abrasion treatment is conducted in order to remove stains of external origin (for instance, coffee, tea or other products containing dyes).
Air abrasion is performed with an oral air abrasion machine that produces a blast of strong air and water and sodium bicarbonate. The professionally conducted air abrasion treatment should not damage teeth or periodontium. After blasting, the teeth are very smooth and appear to be brighter. Often, after this treatment patients decide to not proceed with the whitening treatment, because the aesthetic effect of air abrasion has completely satisfied them.
