Aesthetic medicine

Our Clinic offers wrinkle correction treatment with botulinum toxin and hyaluronic acid.

Initial wrinkles appear between the ages of 25 and 30 years, as a result of aging and the frequent repetition of various facial expressions. There are, for example, “crow’s feet” around the eyes, wrinkles on the forehead, and wrinkles between the eyebrows.

Botulinum toxin

Botulinum toxin products are a safe and effective way to eliminate mimic wrinkles.

Botulinum toxin type A is a protein of natural bacterial origin. Small doses of the substance are injected into a muscle in order to reduce wrinkling. The substance blocks nerve impulses, thus enabling the muscles responsible for wrinkles to relax. At the same time, the skin’s sensitivity to touch does not change. The product works only on the muscle in which it was injected, while the other muscles function as usual. The natural appearance of the face does not change, but the wrinkles are no longer visible.

The treatment involves several injections in the parts of the face that are the subject of correction and takes about 15 minutes.

The first signs of botulinum toxin appear two to three days after treatment, and the effects lasts from four to six months.

Botulinum toxin can be applied in both women and men given having following indications:

  • bruxism (to reduce the tension of the masseter muscle),
  • reduction of smile line in people who smile and reveal their gums (“gummy smile”),
  • deep wrinkles on the forehead,
  • “lion wrinkles” between the eyebrows,
  • “crow’s feet” around the eyes,
  • “smoker’s lines” around the mouth,
  • lifting sagging eyelids,
  • lifting the corners of the mouth,
  • lifting a hooked nose,
  • elimination wrinkles on the chin,
  • reduction of wrinkles on the neck and décolleté area
  • treatment of hyperhidrosis of the forehead, hands, underarms and feet.

The problem of excessive sweating and perspirations odor causes many inhibitions in our personal and professional lives.

This can be effectively prevented by applying botulinum toxin in the area of the body that produces excessive sweat. Due to the significant innervations of these places and the pain associated with the injection, we recommend that these procedures be conducted using nitrous oxide or while in a state of sedoanalgesia (patient is conscious but there is no sensation of pain), both of which are performed by a physician anesthesiologist.

Hyaluronic acid

Hyaluronic acid is a substance naturally present in the skin that keeps water in the tissues. With aging, unfortunately, the quantity and quality of hyaluronan decreases, which leads to sagging of skin, the appearance of fine lines, and deep wrinkles. The reduced amount of collagen and elastin fibers results in the loss of elasticity and flexibility of the skin and thus in the formation of the gravity wrinkles. They are usually visible in the form of nasolabial furrows and drooping corners of the mouth, often called the “marionette lines” or “smoker's wrinkles” over the upper lip. A great way to eliminate these wrinkles is to inject hyaluronic acid products into them.

If the case of patients with strong expressive habits in certain areas of the face, we can apply a combined injection of hyaluronic acid and botulinum toxin. Hyaluronic acid products are nearly identical with those that are naturally present in the human body, so their use is very safe. The injection of hyaluronan also ensures a natural and long-lasting effect. Hyaluronic acid perfectly fills nasolabial folds, wrinkles around the lips, eyes, and cheeks; it corrects drooping corners of the mouth and it sculpts the cheekbones. Hyaluronan is also used in shaping lips to correct the contour and shape of the lips.

Hyaluronic acid stimulates the cells to produce collagen and elastin, thereby causing enhanced levels in the body. Depending on the region subjected to the correction, the injection process of the hyaluronic acid filler takes approximately 15 minutes. Immediately following the procedure, redness, swelling or bruising may appear, but it can be masked with makeup. Usually there is no need for the patient to be excluded from daily routine. The wrinkle filling effect is visible after treatment and remains for 6 to 12 months. The permanency of the treatment depends on the patient’s lifestyle, age and the treated area.
