This is why I decided, asked by one of the medical publishing houses, to write a short article on the ‘myths and the reality’ of contemporary dental implantology.
It is not a disquisition covering the entire matter, as it can be discussed for weeks, but I invite you to read it. I raise only some controversial issues in relation to informing and confusing patients, whose knowledge about implants is sometimes insufficient or incorrect, not only because of medics, but mainly because of the media advertising the products.
